NMMTA Show at the Placitas Library at the end of the year

This show is sponsored by the ART Committee of the Placitas Library as their fundraiser.
They take a 25% commission on all items sold. This is not a juried show (We essentially “Jury”
the participants and type of work.)
They advertise the show in various media and create a poster for the show. (which will be sent
to artists for their own advertising.)
This is an ART EXHIBIT with all items for sale. (It is not a craft market of small gifts, etc.)
They use a Walker Hanging System an have a few fixtures for floor items. Artwork must have
wires for hanging. No sawtooth holders. There is a spec sheet for artists on their website.
They can take large and small items and request pedestals and tables for specialty items. Items
such as knitted or ornaments or… artist must supply own hanging tree.
The gallery has cameras at all 4 corners and sales are made at the library counter front desk.
At the end of the show the artist is notified of sales and a check will be sent within a “week” of
end of show. On the paperwork side: Each artist will be signing an inventory disclaimer form
that includes their name, address, items, mediums, sizes and prices. This disclaimer is signed
both at installation and pickup by the artist or the artists representative.
Important Dates: (Tentative and to be confirmed)
Deadline to provide them with WHO the artists are and their items going into the show will
be November 8 th . (To Cathy Kelly. I will create a spreadsheet for them and they will prepare
individual disclaimer forms for artist drop-off and pick-up.) This information is what is used to
create display labels, etc. No changes can be made to edit items and prices after this is turned
in. (IF works are sold and more are needed from the artist, a call MAY be made to them for
additional items to hang, if available. –Significant sales can be “replaced.”)
Good quality fotos would be helpful from all participants (for advertising use/poster) and are
requested by November 8 th to CathyKelly)
The Exhibit runs from November 25 th – January 1 st .
Installation/Drop-off is 10:00 m Monday November 24 th
Artist Reception is December 12 th from 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Note: We provide the refreshments for the reception: plated and serving ready.
